According to the Gazette, a former Harvard graduate student from Colorado Springs, has been ordered to pay a $260,000 civil judgement after being convicted of manslaughter in 2003 for fatally stabbing a Cambridge man. His conviction was later overturned and he reached a deal to serve two years in prison after his second trial ended in a hung jury. He was found negligent in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of the victim and ordered to pay $520,000, a judgement later reduced to $260,000.
