Collision on U.S. Highway 6, One dead and Ten Injured

On August 4, a Ford Explorer collided with a casino bus and then wrecked into a Chevy sedan in Golden at Tunnel 1 on U.S. Highway 6. The crash occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. after the Ford Explorer crossed over the center lane and into incoming traffic. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead on the scene, eight of the 40 passengers on the casino bus were hospitalized for injuries, and two passengers in the sedan were also taken to a hospital for minor injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
